Commissioner Hoagland presents Wylie $3.6 Million PDF Print E-mail

Collin County Commissioner Jerry Hoagland presented the City of Wylie four checks totaling more than $3.6 million during a recent city council meeting.  The County funds will assist with road reconstruction and parks projects.

“It’s a great privilege to be able to bring some significant dollars to the City of Wylie,” said Commissioner Hoagland, as he presented the funding to the entire city council.  He continued by recognizing the dedication and diligence of City of Wylie Engineer, Chris Holsted; and thanked the residents of Collin County for approving the bonds for the projects. 

 

 

The funding will be applied to the following projects.

"We appreciate the support Commissioner Hoagland and the Commissioners Court have provided to our city,” said Mayor Eric Hogue.  “With their help we have been able to move forward with our road and park improvements without creating financial challenges for our city.  I believe it is important that we continue to build on these relationships with our county, state and federal officials."

The checks only represent a portion of what the County has allocated to South Ballard Avenue, McMillan Road and FM 1378.  South Ballard Avenue is projected to cost $4.1 million with the County covering the full cost of the project.  The initial check is for design and engineering of the project.  The County has committed $4.15 million to McMillan Road that has a total projected cost of $10 million.  The initial check is for design and engineering of the project.  The County has committed $3 million to the FM 1378 project.
