Richardson-based Enfora, a provider of intelligent wireless networking solutions today announced the upcoming release of its HSPA wireless platform that will be available for purchase in April 2010. This platform will be the newest addition to Enfora’s Enabler series of embedded wireless platforms, which are targeted at Machine-to-Machine (M2M) applications. “We are excited about the addition of the new HSPA platform to our portfolio,” said Mark Weinzierl, President of Enfora. “This platform nicely complements our other industry proven offerings, and provides a compelling solution for M2M applications, such as security, smart grid and automotive applications, that can benefit from 3G technology in a small form factor.” Enfora’s HSPA wireless platform will be available in a Land Grid Array (LGA) form factor measuring 29.3mm x 30.9mm x 2.74mm, and will support quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE operation in addition to Triband WCDMA operation with RX diversity. In HSPA mode, the platform can support data rates up to 10.1 Mbps downlink and 5.76 Mbps uplink. Additionally, Enfora’s HSPA platform will support multiple operating systems, including Windows XP, Windows XPe, Windows CE, Windows 7 (desktop and embedded), and Linux (Ubuntu and Android), providing welcome flexibility for application developers. A version of this platform meeting various automotive requirements will be available later this year. For more information visit www.enfora.com. |
