U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson recognized the Allen Americans for an impressive inaugural season on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives this morning.

He congratulated the team on its success in its first year in a one-minute speech, citing several of the club’s accomplishments that include winning the Southern Conference Championship in the playoffs.

Congressman Johnson participated in the ceremonial puck drop prior to a 5-2 win over the Mississippi RiverKings March 5. “I had a great time dropping the puck before the game and was thrilled to see the stands so full. It’s been great to see the Allen community rally around the Americans, and they sure did make us proud. Dread the red!” stated Johnson.
