On May 1 at XO Ranch, in Aubrey, will host the third annual Silver Dollar Ball benefitting the American Cancer Society. Over 700 guests are expected to attend this premiere event featuring food, midway fun, silent and live auctions and a special performance by country music legend Mark Chesnutt. Veteran news anchor Brendan Higgins will once again emcee the gala. This year’s festivities, themed Rhinestone Cowboy, Lassoin’ A Cure, will also feature former Dallas Cowboys tight end and North Texas resident Dan Campbell as the evening’s honorary chairperson.

Event attendees will be able to purchase “Circle of Horseshoes” in honor of loved ones who have battled cancer. The authentic horseshoes will feature a plaque displaying the honoree’s name. These special tributes will be displayed at the ball and available for purchasers to take home with them after the event. 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of Circle of Horseshoes will go to the American Cancer Society.

Jennifer Henshaw, manager of American Cancer Society’s galas and special events, is excited about the Silver Dollar Ball. “The American Cancer Society is the official sponsor of birthdays,” she said. “We like to say that we’re fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer, in every community, and the Silver Dollar Ball is a great way to have a good time for a great cause.”

The money raised by Silver Dollar Ball will help fund research, education, advocacy and service programs that benefit cancer patients and their families throughout North Texas.
