For more than twenty years, veteran and novice gardeners alike have anticipated this rare opportunity to purchase plants from a huge selection of hard-to-find herbs, native and well-adapted plants including perennials, wildflowers, trees and shrubs, grasses, cactus, woody lilies and groundcover. This year, the Heard will also sell heirloom plants—cultivars that were commonly grown in earlier periods, but which are not commonly used in modern agriculture.  This collection of plants will provide people with some of the best plants for north central Texas gardens and an opportunity to obtain many rare plants.

Visit www.heardmuseum.org for the plant list.

No matter what your family’s interests are, the Heard Museum has something for everyone including our Animals of the World exhibit featuring non-native mammals as well as our collection of native Texas reptiles and amphibians. The 40th Earth Day Celebration presented by the Heard, City of McKinney and Collin College and the Heard’s Green Living Family Festival is coming up April 23 (“One Water One People” Presentation by Fabien Cousteau) and 24 (Green Living Family Festival). The Heard butterfly house & garden and new Ice Age Mammals exhibit opens June 5. Enjoy the beauty of the native plant garden, a 289-acre wildlife sanctuary with more than seven nature as well as the beautiful Heard ropes course and canoe/kayak program. Summer camp registration is also going on now. Visit the Heard Museum for more fun education and exploration.
