An alleged incident of an inappropriate relationship between a McKinney North
High School teacher and a student was brought to the District’s attention this week. District officials followed procedures and immediately initiated an investigation and reported the allegations to the McKinney Police Department and the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC). The teacher resigned during the investigation. The school district will continue to cooperate with the McKinney P.D. and appropriate agencies as they investigate the alleged incident. The incident was communicated to parents of McKinney North High School students.
The school district cannot release additional information about the investigation at this time. However, it is imperative that McKinney ISD parents and the public be aware that the District will not tolerate inappropriate relationships between students and staff and responsible parties will be prosecuted to the fullest extent that the law allows. |
