On Tuesday, March 23, Concentra learned of the charges filed against David York, M.D., and the investigation by the Maine State Police Department. Concentra is cooperating fully with the local authorities on this investigation. Dr. York has been with Concentra for one year and has since been terminated from the organization.
“First and foremost our primary concern is to our patients and clients, providing them with quality and trusted medical care in a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment. We continue to go to great lengths in our hiring processes in order to staff our medical centers with professional and upstanding colleagues,” said a statement from Concentra.

American Heart Association offers easy-to-use online resources to help Americans make healthier choices
People apparently can't be pulled away from their beloved pizza, tacos and mac n' cheese, according to a new survey released by the American Heart Association. The survey found that 40 percent of American adults would not accept payment to forgo their favorite foods - with another half of respondents taking no less than $100,000. The purpose of the survey was to assess how people feel about their comfort foods and treats, and the questions about money were hypothetical.

Metroplex and surrounding areas could lose more than $17 million annually for trauma care
In 2003 the state of Texas faced a budget shortfall, the prospect of raising taxes was not likely, and the funding crisis in the trauma system needed to be addressed. In response, the Texas Legislature passed the Driver Responsibility Program, which Governor Rick Perry signed into law. Now, some local media are advocating for the elimination of this program.
