Wellness International Network physician volunteers medical aid to Hatian survivorsRalph Oats began Plano-based Wellness International Network with a spirit of giving back more than 18 years ago, and Wellness International Network still continues to help lift others through giving-back initiatives. After directing charity efforts to the American Red Cross in providing emergency relief and recovery in Haiti, Wellness International Network has raised thousands of dollars for the relief effort in the wake of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. For the last five years, Wellness International Network has supported charitable organizations in Haiti to provide school and medical supplies to a village near Labadee.

Plano-based U.S. Renal Care, Inc. ("USRC"), a privately-held leading provider of outpatient dialysis services, announced that it is extending its previously announced cash tender offer, through its wholly owned subsidiary Urchin Merger Sub, Inc., for all outstanding shares of common stock of Dialysis Corporation of America (NASDAQ: DCAI), until 5 p.m., New York City time, on June 1, unless further extended. The tender offer was previously set to expire at midnight, New York City time, on May 19.

PEI Worldwide Holdings provides update on contracted Canadian manufacturing facilities PDF Print E-mail

Plano-based PEI Worldwide Holdings (Pink Sheets: PEIW) announced that the company has taken several positive steps this week toward initial funding with our Canadian partner. The company has decided that, due to logistical advantages, the first two Thura-Block plants for Canada will likely be in Toronto, Ontario with one manufacturing plant producing Thura-Block for below grade foundations and the other Thura-Block plant for producing product for residential and commercial, above ground construction. Unlike the United States, Canada, and especially Ontario has seen little if any construction slowdown during the past year. PEI expects that the first plant will break ground sometime in the third quarter of 2010.

Funding Round Led by S3 Ventures, Includes Austin Ventures, Duchossois Technology Partners, Sequoia Capital, and STAR Ventures

Richardson-based Sipera Systems, the leader in real-time Unified Communications (UC) enablement and security, announced today it has closed a funding round of $10 million. The round was led by S3 Ventures, and includes participation by prior investors Austin Ventures, Duchossois Technology Partners (DTEC), Sequoia Capital, and STAR Ventures.
